Rub A Dub Dub!

Haven't posted some Dubstep in a while and I think this is an amazing track. For you Dubstep fans out there, you know when your blasting this shit in you headphones and the drop is so deep that you start to feel it in your throat a little below your jaw? Haha well that's what I'm going through! It's a remix of Blue Foundation's "Eyes On Fire" done by Zeds Dead, whom I will be posting more of in the near future because I've been really into them lately.

Freed From Desire

I remember hearing this song on vacation way back in the day and it's finally making it's way back into the clubs. I saw this on the Europian top 100 dance tracks and I got a little excited because I imagined the type of remixes would come out of it. Lucky for you guys, I actually bought these two tracks because I couldn't find anything online. At least I got quality but whatever. I found two remixes, one which is house and the other a sort of lounge style. I urge you to check out the original by Gala if you've never heard it.

Closer To Dolla

Someone just showed me this song which I knew I'd like. It's a Dolla rapping to the "Closer To My Dreams" beat. I love Drakes version to it and Dolla did quite a job.. Rest in peace.

We Love Animals!

New track by Crookers featuring Soulwax & Mixhell. I'm anxious to see what type of remixes come out of this, I'll be sure to post some. This song will be everywhere in a matter of time.

Pitch Black

Pitch Black are award winning multimedia artist Michael Hodgson and Salmonella Dub producer Paddy Free. Having pumped their way through New Zealand’s electronic music scene since their inaugural performance at the annual Gathering New Year's eve festival in 1997, they have spent the last twelve years rousing dance floor punters, generating rave reviews, winning awards and gaining thousands of fans across the world.

Hard to box into a single audio 'genre,' Pitch Black is a combination of musical journeys. Their sound is distinctive; ranging from organic ambient beginnings and layered soundscapes to skanking keyboards, cutting acid riffs and thumping rhythmic grooves, with dub being the glue that holds their sound together. One critic has described them as like "Orbital meets King Tubby, or Rhythm and Sound in Technicolor." Personally, they remind me of Explosions In The Sky.

Here are their current retrospective, self-titled releases
Bird Soul - Pitch Black

I love the Dub in this one, I picture someone doing a vocal remix to it!

Unthinkable

I'll be honest, I've been waiting very long for Alicia Keys and Drake to make a song together. Alicia Keys is an artist my Dad used to play in the car and I always thought she was very talented, and Drake is probably my favorite artist out there. This track is very soothing, and exactly how I expected it to be, but I just wish that Drake actually did a verse in it rather than background vocals. The song was penned (written) by Drake which is probably why I'm so into it. It's showing his RnB side though, so I don't mind. This song is off Alicia's new album "The Element Of Freedom" which will do well I'm sure. I hope to hear more from these two in the near future! I hope "Thank Me Later" sounds like this.

Aoki's On Fire!

I'm a little late on this one, it has seem to have blown up huge in a span of 48 hours, but Steve Aoki is working really hard lately, and he is out with another remix which is dope! I'm a huge fan of this one, and I would definatly play this at a party or something. There's not much to say except for it's his remix to Kid Cudi's "Pursuit Of Happiness" so you can only imagine.

Live DJ Flo

Today is Sunday, and really there isn't much to do on Sundays so this is the day where I get to just sit on my ass and go on the internet. I was doing my youtube rounds when I found this channel called "LiveDJFlo" and basically it's a man with a synthesizer and a piano doing intrumentals to a bunch of famous house and trance songs. Below is a video of him doing some tracks from Tiesto. Be sure to check out his channel also!

Another I'm Not Alone Remix..

Calvin Harris' "I'm Not Alone" has many remixes to it, but out of all of them this is one of my favorites I've heard so far. It's a very good track and you must blast it! I'll defiantly be looking into more remixes or tracks by Taku Takahashi.

I guess I'll go there...

I know I'm not the only one that believes that no one can really take this song seriously, it's a remix of Rod Stewart's "Do you think I'm sexy" Cam Fox adding a twist to the vocals. I don't mind it, and for a DJ I think this would be extremely fun to play. I think Paris Hilton has something to do with this remix as well... anyways.

Old School!

I wasn't alive, but a long time ago, or as my parents would say "when I was your age," The Original came out with "I love you baby"which was a hit at that time. Recently, I found an electro remix to this track that would defiantly bring my mother to shame, but hey.. I'm sure I'd find it depressing seeing music from my time being washed out. Anyways, parents aside, this is a great remix and it really spices things up from the original that's for sure.

Dirty Talk: David Guetta

Guetta out with a new song and it is very good! It's called "Dirty Talk" and vocal creds go out to Wynter Gordon who was also featured on "Toyfreind". It's actually produced by Guetta but anyways... The beginning of this track is my favorite part, but overall it's a very solid track and has potential to become very famous in the club world. Too bad he wasn't able to put this song on One Love.

Beautiful You Are

[Jody Den Broeder]
Straight up, there's not too much I know about this song and there isn't much to say about it, but it's Deborah Cox's "Beautiful U R" remixed by Jody Den Broeder and it's a solid techno track that you'd hear late at night on satellite radio or something.

Just Maybe?

Sorry for the lack of posting, been pretty busy. Anyways, I came across this pretty cool/weird song. It really caught my eye by saying P.Diddy was in a techno song, but I don't think he's really in it besides two lines:(
But some of you might know Kesha (I didn't) released a new song so check it out, It's pretty catchy.

I'm Just Addicted To Champaign

So basically I'm going through the busiest week of my life and I haven't had much time to do anything slack. But, I did hear this song for the first time a few hours ago and I had to post it. Wiz Khalifa was always a great rapper ever since Say Yeah and he recently came out with "The Thrill" featuring Empire Of The Sun. Honestly this song became an instant favorite, it's very chill. He's coming out with a new mix tape called "Burn After Rolling (B.A.O.)" which I'm looking forward to.

Darren Styles

I hope this song ends up getting released because it's great. When I first heard it it felt to me like a cool breeze in the dubstep world, if any of you can make sense to that. Anyways, this track was originally by Darren Styles but this is a Dub remix by Elliot M. I always knew this track needed a good remix, and here it is. I find the original is a little too fast but maybe that's just me. I still urge you to check it out if you've never herd it.

This was the third promo song on the album. Check it out... Its a very layed back chill song which you can listen to whenever... You will not be dissapointed.

Adam K & Soha

Recently, I uploaded a CD to my laptop given to me by a friend of mine who is also a DJ. As I was listening to each song one by one, there were a few that really stood out. It was a track by an artist named Adam K & Soha, whom I've had never heard of before. Anyways I did my research and found a bunch of other songs by them and they instantly became favorites. I'm not too sure what to call this genre, but it's probably along the lines of minimal-tech or trance. There's really not much info on this artist but I'll provide you with some songs that just get me through my day, especially my homework, and their great to DJ. It's very possible that you may have herd them through other artist, like their remix to Kaskade's "4 AM" or their big hit "Twilight" which was remixed by Deadmau5. All I know is that they make fantastic remixes as well as their own tracks. The two also do singles on their own which are also worth checking out.

When I Look At You..

I find every single time I listen to Dupstep I like the genre better in general. I used to be more into the mainstream Dubstep but now I enjoy the more underground stuff. I recently found a song that a few months ago I would not really be able to listen to but now I find it so unique. It's like an abstract painting if you get my drift. Anyway, I can talk all day about music but I'll leave you with a track that just hit digital.

One More Chance: Tiesto Remix

For starters, I'd like to announce that it is Schiaff The Past's 2 month birthday! Anyways, if you've been checking out our blog recently you may have learned that I am a fan of Bloc Party remixes. In find Kele Okereke's voice just goes so well over a trance beat. This remix was made by Tiesto and is very very good, amazing at the concert too if I may add.

Kid Cudi Perfoming/Interview On B.E.T

Kaleidoscope.

So last night, I went to the Tiesto concert with friends and I had the time of my life. It was the one of the best nights of my life. He was playing sick tracks at one point, like "Strobe" from Deadmau5 and new songs of his new album Kaleidoscope which is going to be sick because o all the featured artists on it. I herd Nelly Furtado will be in a song and I'm actually very down. I managed to get a few songs down so I can get a little preview of the album. I can't get over how much fun it was though, just a massive rave, and I had the sickest sleep ever. Anyways, here's an amazing song off his new album that he played last night at the peak of the concert.

Sexier, Much?

So basically, from hearing all of these Sexy Bitch's remix which all ended terribly, this random guy Francisco decided to remix it... Little did I know about this guy, It actually came out pretty good so hopefully will hear some more about this guy.

RIP The Fame Kills Tour!

Secrets are escalating and rumors are true... What was supposed to be a hot tour is now canceled. "The Fame Kills" tour was lead by Kanye West and Ladg GaGa for those of you who don't know, and I was getting ready to buy tickets! There's no legit reason out right now, but I'm just filling you guys in the incoming news.

Changes: Dirty South Remix

I'm sure everyone remembers this song from a few years ago. I remember I used to always listen to it when I had first started DJ'ing. Anyways, a few days ago, "Changes" by Chris Lake Ft. Laura V popped up on my Ipod and I decided to look for a remix. I Found one by Dirty South who is a really great DJ, and producer from Melbourne, Australia. I'm defiantly back into this track.

It's La Time of LMFAO

Coming in with two catchy remixes to La La La in LMFAO's Party Rock album. Death To The Throne and Terror Dactel both add a good mix to this song which made it a little bit better. I couldn't really decide which one to post so heres both. People usually say that nothing can be better than the original, but i think we can make an exception for this one.

World Of Love: John Dahlbäck

Straight up, this song is just amazing, best I've herd in a while. In fact, I even bought it because I liked it so much. Well like I buy all my music but yeah... Anyways, John Dahlbäck, is a Swedish house producer who is very under rated I find. He is the owner and founder of Pickadoll Records, with releases by, apart from his own work, artists like Sebastien Leger and Dada Life. I did not know this much about Dahlbäck before this song, but I'm defiantly down. Anyway, I have the original 'World Of Love' for you to check out along with a club mix which seems to be more popular, I like them both.
